kia Ora bloggers Today I have finished my second unit.

So we have done another part of our main unit. Parihaka.

We first marked where parihaka was.

Then we did where the protesters of parihaka were taken to prison.

After that we did Gandhi and martin Luther king jr.

Then we did a list of questions about the parihaka song

What is the main message of this song?

What happened at parihaka

What line explains their passive resistance method?

The spirit of nonviolence I know Te whiti will never be  defeated

What does ‘you can’t pull out the roots’ refer to?

It means you can’t pull them from their lands

Give evidence of their determination?

The gather still, the clouds of taranaki

How does this song show the significance of Parihaka?

It says how they protested and how determined to stop what the british from doing what they were doing

What makes an event Significant?

A great change over time

How many people are affected?

Tens of thousands of Maori

How long were people affected?

For near 4 decades

To what extent are people affected?

The British were taking their lands

Then we also made a map like this one
